Administered by the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority, The Alternative Land Use Program is designed to provide property to groups or individuals who have ideas and plans outside of traditional development that will positively impact their communities. CoD+A Awards

The Art Commission is now calling for entries for the CoD+A Awards: Collaboration of Design + Art. The goal of the awards is to celebrate design projects that demonstrate the most successful integration of commissioned art into interior and architectural spaces. Call to Sculptors: Auburn, AL

Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art at Auburn University in Alabama presents Out of the Box, a juried outdoor sculpture competition in honor of the museum's 10th anniversary. The yearlong exhibition, on view October 4, 2013-October 2, 2014, will be judged by Drs. Carol Mickett and Robert Stackhouse and prizes will be awarded to 10 finalists.

Call to Artists: Louisiana Contemporary Annual Juried Exhibition

Louisiana Contemporary is a statewide juried art exhibition organized by The Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Opening reception scheduled for White Linen Night.
Established in 2012, this annual juried event promotes contemporary art practices in the state of Louisiana and provides exhibition space for the exposition of art by artists age 18 and over residing in the state of Louisiana. All media are eligible. Up to $3000 in awards will be presented to participating artists including a $1000 Best of Show cash award. 2013 Juror: Franklin Sirmans, Terri and Michael Smooke Curator and Department Head, Contemporary Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, CA.

Call to Artists: Irene Rosenzweig Biennial

The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas in Pine Bluff announces the Irene Rosenzweig 2013 Biennial Exhibition. The exhibition will be on display at the Center from November 14 through December 30. Artists must be 18 years or older and reside in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee or Texas. Artwork in all traditional art forms will be accepted including paintings, original prints, fiber art, ceramics, sculpture and
photography. $2000 in total prize money. Application fee: $20.

Call to Artists: Art Melt 2012

Forum 35's Art Melt is the largest multi-media, juried art exhibit in the state of Louisiana. Now in its 10th year, Art Melt strives to promote professional artists throughout the state of Louisiana while providing an opportunity for the public to experience the best of local fine art, music, and performing arts. This show is open to Louisiana resident artists only.
Art Melt is free and open to the public. The exhibit will open July 20, 2013 at the Louisiana State Museum in downtown Baton Rouge from 5-10 p.m. All artwork accepted to the competition will hang in the museum gallery and remain on display to the public for six weeks following the event. And the Art Melt Marketplace will be placed outside the show gallery during the event.

Call to Artists: Krewe Lounge
This artist call is for the signage of the Krewe Lounge project located in the Saratoga Building at 212 Loyola Ave. Looking to have each letter of "Krewe" hung and illuminated in purple in each of the first five panes. For the sixth and final pane, the words "City Center Lounge" shown and also illuminated possibly green or gold. The letters themselves can be made out of metal, plastic, acrylic or whatever medium as long as it can be well lit by modern leds or some other type of light source that brings an ultra modern look. It is also important to note that these letters must be installed securely.
Budget is between $2500 and $2900 for full implementation and installation. Looking to have the work fully completed by the first week of August.

The Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus, LLC. presents Adventures in Geekery @ the Big Top seeks art that celebrates fandom is all its glory. This Call for Entries is OPEN to artists working in any medium.
Theme: Sci Fi /Fantasy/Horror/Comics/Gaming/Etc... if it’s Chewbacchus relevant, submit it!, Art must be ready to hang. All work must be For Sale.
All work must be relatively kid friendly. Sculpture must be wall mounted or ready to hang from ceiling – NO freestanding work. Video submissions can be no longer than 15 minutes. $5 entry fee per entry.

Alexandria Museum of Art 26th Annual September Competition
Submission deadline: May 31, 2013
Artworks selected in a national juried competition by artist-juror Stewart Nachmias will be featured in a full-color catalogue and exhibition at Alexandria Museum of Art, along the Red River in the heart of central Louisiana, September 6–November 23, 2013. Visual artists over age 18 working in all media, including but not limited to painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, digital art, video, textile art, and printmaking are invited to submit. All artworks MUST be original and completed in the last two years (2011 or later). $2,000 in cash awards. $35 entry fee for 2 entries, $20 per additional entry.
